Red is the New Black: So Says Christina, Carmen and Maggie

Despite strong efforts from Natasha Poly and Chuck Bass' new girl Clémence Poésy — both of whom showed off darker 'dos in Paris this week — red hair is still the colour to beat.

Despite strong efforts from Natasha Poly and Chuck Bass' new girl Clémence Poésy — both of whom showed off darker 'dos in Paris this week — red hair is still the colour to beat. Not convinced? Well the proof is in the pudding. Or the celebs. Whatevs. Carmen Kass is said to be so taken with her Louis Vuitton look that she's thinking of keeping it for a while. Then there's Mad Men's Christina Hendricks who 'fesses up that Karen Elson stole her look in the November issue of Harper's BAZAAR. Juicy! She tells the mag: “I was in Milan, and you would see the same girls at castings. There was one girl — she was like, ‘I can’t get any work. I’m so sick of this, I’m ready to quit. I love your hair colour. What do you colour your hair with?’ and I was like, ‘Oh, it’s red. Here’s my formula.’ It was Karen Elson. A couple of weeks later, she had bright red hair . . . Then I saw her on the cover of Italian Vogue, and the rest is history!” And in further six-degrees-of-separation-stylee news, Maggie Grace, who is set to appear in the upcoming The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, says her favourite hair colour is red and she's constantly asking directors if they'll let her dye it because it reminds her of Anne of Green Gables, which is why Christina first dyed her hair back when she was 10. Bless.

Introducing the Denali Coven From Breaking Dawn!

It feels like all the vampires in Breaking Dawn have faces now, with news that the Denali coven has been cast.

It feels like all the vampires in Breaking Dawn have faces now, with news that the Denali coven has been cast. This follows last week’s report of Mackenzie Foy being cast as Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee, and the casting of Maggie Grace in the role of Irina, the vampire who sells out the Cullen family to the Volturi. Her family members will be played by (from left) Mia Maestro as Carmen, Christian Carmago as Eleazar, Casey LaBow as Kate and MyAnna Buring as Tanya. They’re relative unknowns but as any of the Twilight actors can attest, these roles will dramatically boost their profiles. Behind-the-scenes, director Bill Condon has also announced his department heads, which includes Pan’s Labyrinth cinematographer Guillermo Navarro and John Bruno for visual effects. Bruno worked on Avatar and will be responsible for, as EW.com puts it, “putting Stephenie Meyer’s crazy vision for Renesmee onto film.” What do you think of the Denali coven?
