St. Tropez looked after the perfect glow seen on the We Are Handsome runway, while Maybelline NY's Nigel Stanislaus created two makeup looks to complement the fun, upbeat swimwear collection. We're kicking-off Australia Day with none other than the beautiful Kate Ritchie. The ex-soapy star and radio presenter is now hard at work on a different aspect of the media and entertainment industry — writing — but she's also set to sit back in the acting chair for a new ABC drama. We met with Kai Vinson, international director of artistry and education at Bobbi Brown, and quizzed him on everything from the daytime smoky eye to makeup-in-two-minutes; but we also asked a question on behalf of Pop's editor, Jess, who has trouble getting a defined curl through her Asian lashes, and also getting eyeliner to stay put. There's no ignoring this beauty colour trend: blue. There's the countless blue eyeshadow looks we've seen at the Spring 2013 shows — from Alice + Olivia to Anna Sui, Monique Lhuillier and Jenny Packham — not to mention the celebrity red carpet adaptations we noticed yesterday at the Emmy Awards on stars including Nicole Kidman and January Jones. Even Versus went with a bright blue eye at Milan fashion week over the weekend, as did Moschino Cheap & Chic in London the week before. Then there's the blue nail colour offerings from top brands including Orly and OPI that have us in a seriously polished spin. We've been backstage again this week — this time at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney. Set up in conjunction with the store drops of all the looks we saw at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in May, the Festival runs all week and is just as fast and fabulous the second time around.

Maybelline NY's makeup director Nigel Stanislaus created four beauty looks to be used in all the shows, and each one embodies a different woman. "I think it’s appropriate," said Nigel. "We are the embellishment."

The corresponding hair looks were created by Redken hair directors Jon Pulitano and Richard Kavanagh, together with Jodi Nicholson, Lorna Evans, Maria Ardino and Paloma Rose Garcia.
