I don't think a fragrance commercial has ever compelled me to want, no need, the scent quite as much as Sofia Coppola's Miss Dior Cherie TVC. I could watch it over and over and still never get bored. And every time I spritz, I'm reminding of the flirty jaunt through Paris on a Summer's day.
Would you have guessed this was Natalie Portman if I hadn't told you? She looks so different, doesn't she? Especially the shot on the right.
The votes are in and the time has come to reveal the winners of the first ever Bella Fragrance Awards. It was a bumper week where we enlisted your help to decide which recent releases stood strong in their category and unveiled a few sneak peeks of what's to come for the rest of the year. But enough from me, I know you're all dying to know who won what so allow us to present the winners of the 2010 Bella Fragrance Awards.
Wherever there's fragrance, there's an ambassador. Be it models like Lara Stone or celebs like the newly-appointed Diane Kruger, Alexa Chung and Clive Owen. As soon as we heard about each of these recent signings, we danced around.
From merging celeb names (Brangelina, TomKat) to clothes (skort) and TV fans (Gleek), it seems we all love a portmanteau, the fancy pants name for two or more words brought together to make a whole new word. In the beauty world, you might be familiar with the "lob," or long bob, worn by the likes of Jessica Alba and Zoe Saldana, but there are totes other combined words out there that any Bella-lover needs to know . .
It's been quite a week for the ol' celeb signings with two of my favourite girls snapped up fragrance contracts. First Natalie Portman was unveiled as the new face of Parfums Christian Dior and now little Miss Alexa Chung has entered the ring.
The TV presenter, fashionista and all-round cool cat was yesterday announced as the frontwoman for Lacoste's newest women's scent.
Natalie Portman has just signed on as a beauty ambassador. About time that someone snapped up the gorgeous ethereal beauty, dontcha think? Though the actress often favours Rodarte and Lanvin on the red carpet, she's switched houses and is the new face of Parfums Christian Dior.
Before she stepped out for the Vanity Fair Oscars Afterparty, Nexxus Creative Director, Kevin Mancuso, gave Nat this pretty up 'do with face-framing curl.
While Natalie's hair was wet, Mancuso worked a volumising spray gel from roots to ends. He then blew her hair dry with a paddle brush, lifting at the roots.
The Vanity Fair afterparty is known for being the hot ticket in town post-ceremony so no wonder many-a-celeb chose to head straight there.
Stars including Natalie Portman, Abbie Cornish and Katy Perry wowed us with their gowns and gorgeous hair and makeup styles.
