Our Week in Pics

Wanna know what's been keeping us busy at POPSUGAR this week? We were thrown into the glitz and glamour of The Great Gatsby when we hit the red carpet at the film's Sydney premiere. Between chatting to Joel Edgerton, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan, we were treated to a visual feast as guests came dressed in 1920's theme; a standout was one of the film's stars, Elizabeth Debicki, in her Dior dazzler. Speaking of all things pretty, Ali went to many showings this week and spied great new shoes and apparel coming our way for Spring/Summer, while Alison got up close and personal with new scents and a cool new makeup collaboration. Oh, and then there were the CLEO Bachelors of the Year. . .

Nothing makes us crave hot Summer days like seeing the line-up of clothing collections we'll be coveting come next season. POPSUGAR Fashion editor Ali was knee-deep in stylish new wares from labels like Millie Loves Min (that's who's stocking those Yeezy and Moss tees!), Nude Footwear (wait 'til you see the boots), 3.1 Phillip Lim and many more. Health and beauty editor Alison was all over fragrances this week, snapping up two newbies (they're unique — details in here!), while on the celebrity side of things, we were all glued to Angelina Jolie's inspiring story and consuming delicious birthday treats (not at the same time, mind you). Oh, and then there was divine supermodel Coco Rocha in the flesh. . .

We've had a colourful week here at POPSUGAR — literally and figuratively! We were blown away (and snowed under) with all the action at the 2013 Met Gala, and we loved seeing our favourite stars stepping out of their comfort zone and into the punk theme. On the fashion front, Ali got to check out heaps of new season collections, with Gasparre Cashmere and Bianca Spender standing out from the crowds with their beautiful pieces. Health and beauty editor Alison took cues from the Met Gala with her beauty choices, while celebrity editor Jess lined up some roses from hunky men, thanks to The Bachelor Australia. There's plenty more to see — come this way!

There's never a dull moment in the world of celebrity, fashion and beauty — how could there be, when there are so many new things to marvel at? This week, fashion editor Ali was a busy little bee, popping in to showings for labels like Armani Exchange, Lilya, May The Label and more. . . And we may have added to our list of style must-haves upon seeing some of the cool new threads. In the beauty world, Alison showed off an affordable lipstick that she gets endless compliments on, discovered a divine cosmetics brand new to Australia and found a concealer to beat all others. As for entertainment? Jess was all over the My Kitchen Rules grand final and Kelly Osbourne's Aussie visit. Click through to check it all out!

When a week includes new-season style, fresh and pretty products and a star-studded celebrity premiere, you know it's been a good one. We were excited to catch up with stars Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, and uber producer J.J. Abrams when they hit the red carpet in Sydney for the premiere of Star Trek: Into Darkness during the week — you can read some of their quotes here! Health and beauty editor Alison gave a new polish and CC cream a whirl, Ali lusted after sequin shorts, lacy dresses and seersucker swimsuits (and interviewed a supermodel), and things felt a little lonely in the office one particular day. . . We have been all over Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. Fashion editor Ali, health and beauty editor Alison, and publisher Marisa have been on the ground at Carriageworks (and all over Sydney, depending on show locations) reporting on the runway and backstage beauty as quickly as possible. We had our phones at the ready to snap all the behind-the-scenes details you may have missed, from hair and makeup prep to designer notes for how models should walk, and accessories that also deserve the spotlight.

It may have been a short week (hooray for public holidays!) but it was as busy as ever — especially since Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia is just around the corner! Happy Good Friday, everyone! We're making like the rest of the country, and taking a highly-anticipated long weekend to rest our weary bones (flop on the couch and catch up on Girls), rehydrate (sip cocktails) and help out the economy (buy hundreds of tiny Cadbury chocolate eggs). That said, this week just past has been pretty great, too! We welcomed a new team member, Steph — she's our new health and beauty writer and you can meet her in this gallery — Ali and Marisa put their styling caps back on and had a go at the beautiful new Zimmermann range, Alison got in front of the camera for Dior (just for laughs!), Jess hit up a film screening and her first-ever yoga class and Gen kept Heath Ledger's memory alive in a charitable way. Another week, done and dusted! We've been busy little worker bees this week, collecting ourselves after the madness of Fashion month and getting settled into a nice little Autumn mindset — a bit of a struggle for fashion editor Ali, who's just returned from a holiday in paradise (ie, Mexico). We've spent time lusting after a new range of Chanel lipsticks — you can see Alison wearing one of the luxe shades in here — hitting Future Music Festival, catching up on Girls on a rainy day off (is there anything better?) and trying out green juices.
