The Chanel 2012-13 Cruise collection took place in the gardens outside the Palace of Versailles in Paris (le sigh), and at the time, we were quite simply, enamoured. The sweet but punk-modern twist to the Marie Antoinette era was original and strong, fit with "bob top" hair and pink eyeshadow. Oh, and those beauty marks - they were pretty fantastic, too. 2013 Critics' Choice Awards: Elle Fanning

Hollywood doesn't come much cuter than the Fanning sisters, and Elle has arrived at the Critics' Choice Awards looking suitably sweet. Wearing daring but delicious neon pink eyeshadow, the Ginger & Rosa star has kept her milky blonde hair straight with a neat centre part. She doesn't even look to be wearing foundation, just a lick of mascara. Perfect for her age, don't you think?

Chanel 2012/13 Cruise Collection: Chanel Beauty Marks? Yes, Please

Yesterday wasn't all about Snow White and the Huntsman. Across the pond in France, the Chanel 2012-2013 Cruise collection was taking place in the gardens of the Palace of Versailles. Le sigh. The collection itself served up a punk-modern twist to the Marie Antoinette era which translated into a fun beauty look. Think pastel wigs atop ponytails or "bob tops" as hairstylist Sam McKnight called them, a wash of pink eyeshadow taken right up to the brow, a pop of pink on the cheeks and the star - Chanel's iconic interlocking C's placed underneath the eye in beauty mark fashion. The only slight disappointment? The lack of a new nail lust-have as models' fingertips were left au natural but still, we've got to hand it to you Karl, you've done it again.

I love Zooey Deschanel's style. The Rimmel London spokeswoman and She & Him singer always looks adorable with her thick blunt bangs, her HUGE baby blues and her penchant for a bold lip. The last time we saw her bust one out was at the 2010 Hollywood Style Awards in December, where she opted for a rusty coral-red. We liked it, but we LOVE her pretty peony pink that she's rocking in She & Him's latest music video for "Don't Look Back". And that's before we even noticed that she'd give her makeup palette a fashion-forward Derek Lam twist by sporting a similar shade on her lids. OK, so it looks powdery so obviously isn't lipstick, and Ms. Deschanel's wearing it under-eye instead of winged out, but we still love Zo's take on the runway trend. Searching for a new eye colour in time for party season? Not quite brave enough to try red eyeshadow but want to try SOMETHING new and fun and exciting? Well look no further than Little Miss Whitney Port for inspiration. The super stylish lady wore a gorgeous iridescent dusky pink-plum on her lids and lower lash line to this week's 2010 American Music Awards in LA and we've just got word that it was NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Charade ($78) which features a muted mauve and gorgeous smoky plum. Beaut-iful, non? Would you wear a similar shade?

2011 Spring Paris Fashion Week: Christian Dior

The Christian Dior Spring 2011 beauty look was a melting pot of trends, both past and present. Bettie Page bangs were teamed with bold green, blue and pink eye hues and finished with a statement coral-red lip. It was a team effort by hairstylist Orlando Pita and makeup artist Pat McGrath to make John Galliano's "technicolor" dream come alive. It's definitely one of the more statement looks that Paris has seen so far, but then that's no surprise given who's at the helm of Dior. And while clip on bangs aren't for me, I'll definitely be road-testing the mandarin nails.

Nicole Wears Thick Bangs and a Pink-Purple Eye For InStyle

Before she went back to the blonde bob that 63 percent of you LOVE, Nicole Richie covered the October 2010 issue of UK InStyle looking fierce with her long bangs curled in a Bettie Page fashion and her black ponytail sleekly draped over either shoulder. Similar to Kate Hudson's look for British ELLE, Nicole's eyes are awash with pinks and purples. It's a strong, statement eye so it's been paired with a camouflaged lip and gentle contouring. I think I prefer Kate's makeup as I've never really been a fan of pink eyeshadow: too close to red. Whaddya reck? Is it a good look for the reality-star-turned-jewellery-designer or do you prefer seeing her more fresh-faced? In the interview, she talks Harlow, pregnancy and the past, saying that her 16-year-old self wasn't quite ready for body art: “I’m a Virgo and the sign is a virgin. So when I was 16, I got the word virgin tattooed on my wrist, thinking I was sooo deep and cool. And now I just look really weird having virgin written across my wrist and I have to explain it.”
