Every Fashion Week has a unique personality, and ours can only be categorised as fearless. It is not rare to see full-on costume makeup on the MBFWA catwalks, but on the other hand, there are also edgy looks that push the envelope without being impossible to re-create at home. While the looks coming down the runway ranged from sweet to somewhat scary, we selected the top 22 anyone can try right now.
Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was full of ideas for making a simple ponytail look more stylin' — like adding in some length and finishing up with matte ribbon at the base like they did at the Raffles show (top right). Now it's something we're starting to see the stars sport on red carpets, too. Diane Kruger added some definition to her wavy ponytail with a thick black band at her Le Grand Journal interview during the Cannes Film Festival and Delta's pony got a boost in glam factor with the addition of a silver cuff. Try the ASOS Gold Corrugated Hinged Ponytailer ($17) or Free People's Stingray Ponytail Cuff ($18.20) or Free People's Cutout Ponytail Cuff ($18.20).
Ponytails are a style staple globally but if you're struggling to think of ways to make yours look, well, more interesting and not so gym-chic, you're in luck because Fashion Week just served up six new twists on the classic style. From a simple, two-second trick that'll add an instant glam factor to dual-textured and two-toned styles to equestrian-esque takes on the look, you can be as adventurous or low-key as you like when it comes to refreshing an ol' classic. Take a look.
