Kate Middleton just keeps the on-tour style rolling! After showing us her talent for incorporating a maple leaf (stylishly) into her outfits over the weekend, she's opted for a very femme take on collegiate knits for official duties in Charlottetown. The Duchess stepped out yesterday in this cream, cable knitted dress with navy trim by the same label that designed her wedding dress, Alexander McQueen. We thought (ok, hoped) Kate Middleton might change up her beauty and fashion style for the North American tour, but not only have we seen her don an elegant up 'do, whaddya know it, yesterday at the Province House in Charlottetown she pulled another hat out of the bag. Kate's hair was brushed back into a pony tied in the middle of her head, with her long locks left flowing in barrel waves, complete with a small strand of hair wrapped around the base acting as a hairband. While she's continued to work her signature makeup routine - rosy cheeks, check, brown eyeliner, check, pale pink lip, check - we loved seeing the Duchess' hair in this relaxed, low-mainty style. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge kicked off the first leg of their North American tour, arriving in Canada late last week. Kate's been looking fresh-faced and relaxed while attending functions and events with Prince William and we were chuffed to see her change up her hairstyles a little. Our top picks were the gorgeous half-up, half-down softly curled style with tiny tortoiseshell clips at the crown of her head, and the relaxed up 'do with height at the front and combed back with loose curls pinned in. The Royal couple have posed for their official photos for their Canadian tour! Kate looked picture-perfect in her midnight blue suit and sporting her signature beauty style. Kate's hair was parted off centre and blow-dried with softly curled ends, while her makeup consisted of a touch of pink blush applied to the apples of her cheeks and a hint of what looks to be taupe eyeshadow. To complete her natural and fresh-faced look, Kate opted for a few coats of mascara and a dusty pink lipstick. The Duke and Duchess will commence their tour of Canada in one week's time before heading to the US and with various appearances in Hollywood scheduled for the loved-up duo, we're eager to see if she'll switch up her beauty look. Now, if we had just married into the British royal family, and suddenly required a whole new wardrobe for a swag of public appearances, we probably wouldn't say no to the odd free frock that might come our way. But not so for Kate Middleton. The newly anointed Duchess of Cambridge is saying a polite, but firm, no thanks to clothes that may be gifted to her by designers. We're guessing that there would be a slew of threads sent her way, given the mighty retail power she has to inspire the masses, but Catherine is making it known that she will be paying for her clothes herself. In a time when most celebs can't get their paws fast enough on a freebie, this is a refreshingly modest approach. Adding to the fact that Kate also (shock, horror) wears something more than once, and is happy to forgo designer threads for chain store steals, we're expecting her upcoming Canadian and US tour to be full of more accessible fashion from this princess of the people.
