Product Review: Beach Hair From Brooklyn

When you think beachy hair, the last place you probably think of is Brooklyn NYC.

When you think beachy hair, the last place you probably think of is Brooklyn NYC. But Brooklyn Beach Hair Spray (approx $14) is about to blow your idea of surf sprays out of the water. Made in one of New York's most beloved boroughs, this all-natural spray serves up sexy, textured waves that make you look like you've just emerged from the ocean. A healthy dose of salt provides the body, while jojoba oil keeps your hair from drying out, so you don't have to worry about the gritty texture that comes with most beach sprays.

Brooklyn Beach Hair Spray is made with rosewater and jasmine, providing a delicious scent that's both floral and woodsy. This is one beach spray you'll want to wear all year round. The only thing that will give away this spray's Brooklyn roots is the healthy dose of volume you'll be sporting.

How to Achieve Perfect Beach Waves

Model Erin Wasson made an appearance on Extra last night, sporting tousled waves that were perfect for our approaching Summer.

Model Erin Wasson made an appearance on Extra last night, sporting tousled waves that were perfect for our approaching Summer. Lucky for us, this casual look is easy to create. After washing your hair, create a part and rough-dry your hair with your hands (or let it air-dry). Once your hair is just slightly damp, spritz in a sea salt spray like O&M Surf Bomb Sea Salt Spray ($24.95) and work through with your fingers. Next, gently separate your hair into two halves and create loose buns on each side. Make sure to twist away from your face to get a flattering result. Just let dry overnight and wake up to effortless waves. For a dry-hair version, simply use the beach spray on dry locks, twist into buns, and use a blow dryer to set the look. Let your hair cool while you do your makeup, and there you have it: perfect waves.

Girl Crush: Phoebe Tonkin's Messy Bob & Metallic Talons at Chanel

It's no secret we've got a rather large girl crush on Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin.

It's no secret we've got a rather large girl crush on Australian actress Phoebe Tonkin. She's a rising star on the Hollywood ladder thanks to a new role in The Vampire Diaries, but the brunette was back in Sydney last night for Chanel's Little Black Jacket event. We couldn't help but notice a very fresh and sexy new haircut on the starlet, a big change from her previously long, brunette locks. Phoebe kept things at smouldering level with smoky eyes and metallic nails, the perfect combination to match her messy, undone hair. We've put together a few products to help you get her beauty look at home, but now, off to the hairdresser we go...
