Sunday marks the Australian music industry's biggest event — the ARIA Awards. To help you get in the mood, we're taking a look back at last year's biggest beauty moments. International superstar Taylor Swift performed alongside Australian stars Guy Sebastian and Missy Higgins. But, back to the beauty! We saw a trend in navy and metallic — both eyeshadow and eyeliner — and the nails were either really dark (black) or nude. The hair looks included a real mix of sky-high buns à la Ricki-Lee Coulter, and soft, natural waves seen on Samantha Jade and DJ Havana Brown. We loved Jesinta Campbell's foray into pink (temporary!) hair and Taylor Swift's romantic twist chignon. Click through to see all the looks from the 2012 ARIA Awards.
As much as we love the focus on the frocks when it comes to red carpet events, we're just as interested in all the little extras that go towards making (or breaking) an outfit. We've zoomed in on all of the celebrity accoutrements from last night's ARIA Awards arrivals so you could see — close up — what the crème de la crème of the Australian music industry (plus Nicki! Plus Taylor!) used to jzush-up their ARIAs ensembles. Ready? Dive on in!
Bold, bright colour, graphic prints and pale and pretty looks were the top three trends we noticed on the ARIA Awards red carpet. Ricki-Lee Coulter, DJ Havana Brown and Sarah De Bono opted for stand-out colour, while punchy prints were the way forward for Nicki Minaj (in Camilla), Kimbra, Jesinta Campbell and Ruby Rose (via a custom-designed Romance Was Born frock). Then there was the pale and interesting brigade; Taylor Swift's romantic Elie Saab gown and Samantha Jade's sculptural number adding a little elegance to the black carpet. We can't pick a favourite (yet), so we're rounding up all the celebrity looks so that you can make an informed decision. Step inside and see who wore what to the 2012 ARIA Awards.

Jessica Mauboy was first on the red carpet, glistening in gold Alex Perry, Erin McNaught made her newly-engaged debut in bottle-green Emilio Pucci, Sarah De Bono made serious impact in yellow Rachel Gilbert and Samantha Jade brought her X Factor glow to the scene in a heavenly white gown. Catch up on all the ARIA action in our gallery, and don't forget to vote on your favourite fashion and beauty looks over at FabSugar and BellaSugar, too!
It was clear skies and bright colours yesterday as a who's who of Aussie celebs descended on Melbourne for the Caulfield Cup. Always marked on the calender as one of the most stylish social events of the year, the 2012 version was no exception as fashionable movers and shakers like Lara Bingle, Jessica Gomes, Jason Dundas, Firass Dirani and Kate Waterhouse stepped out in their Saturday best. The David Jones marquee, where all the action happened, was inspired by the opulence of Marie-Antoinette — think pretty pastels, gilding, black lace, thick tweed and a feast to feed an army. Of course, the dresses stole most of the attention, with Lara, Jessica and model Samantha Harris all going for bold block colours (black, white and yellow, respectively), Kate Waterhouse in a stripes-and-leather ensemble and Camilla Franks rocking prints in a way only Camilla Franks can. It wasn't all about the ladies, though — click through the gallery to see who else was there on the day!
Cosmopolitan magazine threw quite the soirée last night at Bennelong restaurant at the Sydney Opera House. The reason? To fête this year's Fun Fearless Females. The southern sails of Sydney's most iconic building were lit up in Cosmo's signature shade of fuchsia, setting the celebratory (and pink!) tone for the female-focused night ahead. We were of course on frock-watch, and the A-list crowd delivered in spades. Notable mentions go to model Annabella Barber's understated LBD, Laura Dundovic's elegant Manning Cartell white sheath, and Zoe Balbi's sculptural Steven Khalil design — and we can't not send a little love to the impossibly-likeable Zoë Foster, who opted for chic separates to collect both her Author of the Year and woman of the Year awards. Hamish Blake is one lucky fellow! Fashionable winners included the elegant and eloquent jewellery designer Samantha Wills (in an Aelkemi Inc gown) who scooped Entrepreneur of the Year, the globe-trotting Jessica Stein from Tuula who nabbed the Blogger of the Year title, and Rachel Gilbert who was named Fashion Designer of the Year. There's more red carpet snooping inside, so don't be shy now . . . step on it!
Last night’s Cosmopolitan Fun, Fearless Female Awards drew a stunning crowd to Guillaume at Bennelong to celebrate women in fields such as fashion, acting, sport and more. Soft pink lighting filled the room and flowers adorned the tables as stylish guests mingled before sitting down for a delicious three-course meal. Cosmopolitan editor-in-chief Bronwyn McCahon introduced Ruby Rose as the night’s emcee, who cracked a few jokes before being joined on stage by stars such as Jesinta Campbell, Laura Dundovic and Charlotte Dawson to hand out honours. The biggest award of the night went to Zoë Foster, who was named woman of the year after also receiving the author of the year award. She was genuinely surprised by the honour — and the $10,000 novelty cheque that came with it! — and got emotional during her acceptance speech, adding that she wished fiancé Hamish Blake could be there on the night. Entertainment was provided by The Voice finalist Sarah De Bono, DJ Havana Brown, and a shirtless trophy man who was on hand to deliver the plaques to the recipients.

Lots of Australian stars made their way to the Hordern Pavilion for Myer’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection launch last night. Runway star and Myer ambassador Jennifer Hawkins glittered in gold sass & bide on the black carpet, keeping her appearance short and sweet so she could get ready for the catwalk. Kris Smith looked smart in a suit — and showed off some facial hair — before revealing his shirtless physique to model upcoming men’s Summer fashion. Laura Dundovic and Laura Csortan matched in metallics, wearing Jayson Brunsdon and Manning Cartell respectively, while Jesinta Campbell was glowing in floral Manning Cartell and excited to talk about her recent trip to LA, Vegas and Mexico, telling us, “It was so much fun. It was funny — there was a write-up the other day about the tan, and they said how fake it looked and how shocking it was. And I said, ‘Let me tell you, Mexico does not come in a can!’” TV stars were also well represented, with The Voice’s Emma Birdsall, Sarah De Bono and Darren Percival, MasterChef’s Andy Allen and Ben Milbourne, and Sunrise’s Melissa Doyle and David Koch attending. Click through to see which Spring/Summer trends everyone is excited to wear!
The Myer Spring Summer 2013 collection launch at the Horden Pavilion brought our Sydney's style set for the second time this week, with many celebs backing up from Tuesday's David Jones show. The bar stayed high in terms of front-row style stalking, with Spring-ready ensembles walking the red rug for the department store. Top marks go to golden girl Jennifer Hawkins, who opted for a custom-designed sass & bide sequinned mini prior to strutting her stuff, Jesinta Campbell and her figure-hugging floral frock courtesy of Manning Cartell, Kate Peck who opted for a fun, feathered look from Aurelio Costarella, Emma Birdsall and her signature retro style in LP33.3, Laura Dundovic whose girly Jayson Brunsdon prom-style frock was a big hit and Kyly Clarke (nee Boldy) who turned heads in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton. Not to mention Myer's stable of stylish designer stars . . . the sass & bide girls and Kym Ellery looked particularly fabulous. Step inside to get caught up on who-wore-what last night . . .
