Liam Hemsworth stepped out with a group of guy friends last night in Cannes at Belvedere's big soiree. The actor was one of several celebrities in attendance; Solange Knowles also arrived just before Rev Run and DJ Ruckus took to the turntables to spin a set full of throwback hip-hop for the crowd. The Help's Ahna O'Reilly also made an appearance at the party, which was nestled in an underground VIP space in the J.W. Marriott, right in the heart of the city's bustling festival scene.

Liam is in Cannes to celebrate the Hunger Games franchise, while Miley Cyrus has been tweeting about spending time in the recording studio back in the states as she works on new music. Liam's second film in the series isn't screening during the festival, but the cast — including Jennifer Lawrence — gathered today for a Catching Fire photocall (pics coming soon!), and Lionsgate is throwing a bash in honour of the film later tonight.

The Cannes Film Festival red-carpet events kicked off with The Great Gatsby premiere, setting a high bar for all the celebrity glamour to follow. Yesterday, Emma Watson and Freida Pinto furthered the A-list allure with arrivals at their respective premieres. Freida glowed in an embellished Sanchita gown as she made her way down the carpet at the Jeune & Jolie screening, while Emma traded her photocall style for black-and-white Chanel at the premiere of The Bling Ring. The second weekend at Coachella kicked off in the desert, drawing out another round of festival-cool style from our favourite celebs. Jessica Alba hit the grounds in a cool-girl take on a breezy black skirt — with the quintessential festival-perfect embroidered bag in tow — joining the ranks of style setters like Solange Knowles and Kate Bosworth at Coachella's first weekend. With two of Australia's biggest fashion events falling in the same seven-day period, we always knew this was going to be a doozy of a week when it comes to style. The Logies were off first — TV's "night of nights", where our favourite stars get to doll up and wear Oscars-worthy gowns. Last night, Bono co-hosted a Coachella party that drew stars from John Legend to Joe Jonas. Bono's clothing company, Edun — which he co-founded with his wife Ali Hewson in 2005 — teamed up with Diesel to throw their Studio Africa soiree on the first official night of the 2013 festival. The brands launched the Studio Africa project this year as an effort to spotlight fashion, music, and other arts from the continent.

Solange Knowles played DJ for the night at yesterday evening's bash and Congolese-Belgian musician Baloji performed for the crowd. While plenty of the attendees — including John Legend — have a musical pedigree of their own, plenty of actors and other celebrities hit the party, which was held at a private estate in La Quinta, CA. John and his fiance Chrissy Teigen were spotted hanging out with stylist Brad Goreski, while Kellan Lutz, Teresa Palmer, Joe Jonas, and Mad Men's Jessica Paré rounded out the VIP crowd.
