We were spoiled for choice this week as the beautiful people came out to play all around the world. Lana Del Rey hit the GQ Men of the Year Awards and debuted some new raven locks and red lips, Katy Perry wowed us with her dramatic Jessica Rabbit-style look at the MTV VMAs, and Elizabeth Olsen rocked a bronze-brown metallic shadow that we can't wait to get our hands on! In fact, we were so inundated with beautiful, um, beauties, this week that we had to bump our Top 5 up to the Top 10 Celebrity Beauty Looks. So you better get clicking — there are a whole lot of gorgeous tricks to try in this gallery.
With any number of hair and makeup artists at their disposal, it's no surprise that we often look to celebrities to find our next beauty inspiration. This week, all of the ladies in our Top 5 were subtly gorgeous, with soft hair and makeup looks that complemented, not dominated, their natural beauty. Kate Hudson glowed on the red carpet in Venice (but then again, doesn't she always?), Kim Kardashian wowed us with her intricate — but not too polished — bun as she went to church, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's lips looked more luscious than ever with a glossy sheen of pink-nude colour. There are more beauty looks to steal and make your own, so click through and get inspired!
With so many fresh looks coming at us this week it was hard to narrow the selection down to our Top 5. Ashley Greene knocked our socks off with a divine plum lip that added sophistication and sex appeal to her overall look. She wore the dark colour to perfection, but we're happy to tell you that it's super-easy to recreate, and with bold lips being all the rage, you have many shades to choose from. We were smitten with Aussie actress Isla Fisher's shiny red mane, and she wasn't the only one tossing gorgeous hair around — Glee star Lea Michele debuted a long, voluminous look that we can't wait to try for ourselves. But that's not all! There are more looks for you to recreate, so check out our gallery to see who else made the beauty cut.
You heard it here first: bold lips are the new statement nail. Well, that's what we've decided here in the Sugar office, and can you blame us? There were two huge fashion events in Sydney this week — the Myer Spring/Summer 2013 Collection and the David Jones Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. Both were phenomenal, not least of all because of the stunning beauty looks that came parading down the catwalks and on the red carpets. Miranda Kerr, Jennifer Hawkins and the sass & bide designers showed us how the bold lip should be done, but that's not all — there are those beauty looks and more inside this gallery, so let's get going!
It was all so beautiful and simple in beauty land this week. We fell head over heels for Sophia Bush's understated elegance at the InStyle Summer Soirée — her red-brown lip and simple hairstyle were soft and pretty, but strong enough to make a big beauty statement. Two gorgeous models wowed us at Naomi Campbell's Fashion For Relief charity event — Naomi with her bare-looking skin and Lily Donaldson with her bold red lip; we love seeing staple beauty trends make a return on the red carpet. There's all this and more in our round-up of the top five beauty looks of the week, so get flicking, and start prepping!
It's always exciting when our favourite celebrities reinvent their beauty looks. Take Jessica Biel for example, she's been styling her new fringe an assortment of different ways and rocking different makeup looks for her Total Recall publicity commitments. Love it! Candice Swanepoel proved why she's a Victoria's Secret Angel at a launch for Body by Victoria this week — her long blonde hair and cute winged eyeliner had us at, well, hello. But there's three more stars in the mix, so click through to see our top five celebrity beauty looks this week.
We were pleasantly surprised by Demi Lovato's sleek high ponytail wrapped in a leather this week at the Teen Choice Awards — but we couldn't help but wonder how heavy it must have been?! Special mention also goes to Taylor Swift for her angelic up 'do, we think her red carpet beauty looks are getting more and more mature, which we love! But there's three more celebrity beauties to see (including one very cute royal), so click through to see our top five looks this week.
We love it when our local ladies step out and shine on the red carpet, and that's just what happened this week at the MTV photo call in Melbourne. TV darling and DJ Ruby Rose wore her short locks slicked back with natural makeup, and new VJ Jules Sebastian (yes, Guy's wife!), had a sweet up 'do that sat high at the top — one we're keen to try at home. Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard were stand outs for their red carpet beauty efforts at the European premiere of The Dark Knight Rises, but there's still more to see... won't you join us?
Jessica Biel showed us how to do a fringe right, at the MTV Movie Awards earlier this year, so we weren't surprised when she rocked it again at the ESPY Awards this week. Pushed to the side, she looked darling with a voluminous high ponytail. Supermodel Nicole Trunfio looked very fresh in a bright lip at a Cinema Society event in New York, and our favourite beauty queen Miranda Kerr looked sleek and polished in an office-ready ponytail on the streets of New York. Click through to see the entire top five and find out how to channel their beauty looks at home.
Blake Lively rocked two very different, but equally gorgeous beauty looks on the red carpet for Savages this week. We were a little bit torn between her amazing fishtail braid and her old Hollywood style peek-a-boo bang — but in the end, we had to go with the braid! Her hair looks so thick and voluminous. We don't see Mischa Barton on too many red carpets these days, which is a shame because she's such a classic beauty. We loved her chic winged eyeliner and red lip at the Serpentine Gallery Summer party in London on Thursday, but does it rival a certain popstar who is currently rocking deep purple locks? You'll have to click through to find out!
