This Week's Top 5 Celebrity Beauty Looks

We were spoiled for choice this week as the beautiful people came out to play all around the world. Lana Del Rey hit the GQ Men of the Year Awards and debuted some new raven locks and red lips, Katy Perry wowed us with her dramatic Jessica Rabbit-style look at the MTV VMAs, and Elizabeth Olsen rocked a bronze-brown metallic shadow that we can't wait to get our hands on! In fact, we were so inundated with beautiful, um, beauties, this week that we had to bump our Top 5 up to the Top 10 Celebrity Beauty Looks. With any number of hair and makeup artists at their disposal, it's no surprise that we often look to celebrities to find our next beauty inspiration. This week, all of the ladies in our Top 5 were subtly gorgeous, with soft hair and makeup looks that complemented, not dominated, their natural beauty. Kate Hudson glowed on the red carpet in Venice (but then again, doesn't she always?), Kim Kardashian wowed us with her intricate — but not too polished — bun as she went to church, and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's lips looked more luscious than ever with a glossy sheen of pink-nude colour. With so many fresh looks coming at us this week it was hard to narrow the selection down to our Top 5. Ashley Greene knocked our socks off with a divine plum lip that added sophistication and sex appeal to her overall look. She wore the dark colour to perfection, but we're happy to tell you that it's super-easy to recreate, and with bold lips being all the rage, you have many shades to choose from. We were smitten with Aussie actress Isla Fisher's shiny red mane, and she wasn't the only one tossing gorgeous hair around — Glee star Lea Michele debuted a long, voluminous look that we can't wait to try for ourselves. You heard it here first: bold lips are the new statement nail. Well, that's what we've decided here in the Sugar office, and can you blame us? There were two huge fashion events in Sydney this week — the Myer Spring/Summer 2013 Collection and the David Jones Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. We love it when our local ladies step out and shine on the red carpet, and that's just what happened this week at the MTV photo call in Melbourne. TV darling and DJ Ruby Rose wore her short locks slicked back with natural makeup, and new VJ Jules Sebastian (yes, Guy's wife!), had a sweet up 'do that sat high at the top — one we're keen to try at home. Blake Lively rocked two very different, but equally gorgeous beauty looks on the red carpet for Savages this week. We were a little bit torn between her amazing fishtail braid and her old Hollywood style peek-a-boo bang — but in the end, we had to go with the braid! Her hair looks so thick and voluminous. We don't see Mischa Barton on too many red carpets these days, which is a shame because she's such a classic beauty. We loved her chic winged eyeliner and red lip at the Serpentine Gallery Summer party in London on Thursday, but does it rival a certain popstar who is currently rocking deep purple locks?
