Get the Scoop on Zooey Deschanel's TV Nails From the Emmys

In the past year, Zooey Deschanel has started to emerge as one of Hollywood's biggest lovers of all things nail art.

In the past year, Zooey Deschanel has started to emerge as one of Hollywood's biggest lovers of all things nail art. While the star's Golden Globes tuxedo-clad nails were something to remember, Zooey tuned into her TV roots for the 2012 Emmys. "We wanted keep it soft and fresh but sparkly," says celebrity manicurist and consulting nail expert at L'Oréal Paris, Tom Bachik. "So we went with a soft Summer tone personalised with glitter, Swarovski crystals, and hand-painted TVs on featured fingers."

To achieve the exact look, start with a thin coat of the brand's Coulour Riche Nail Color in Tweet Me, a canary yellow, topped off with a coat of Sweet Nothings, a subtle peach, to soften. Next, use a chunky silver metallic lacquer on random areas of the nails, fading the glitter out. To finish, apply Swarovski crystals in the glitter areas to form a peach "galaxy." Then, paint on retro-inspired TV sets on the thumbs for a whimsical touch that will get you noticed.
