Hot on the heels of Christian Dior's gorgeous orange and pink eyes, YSL and Givenchy cemented the statement eyeshadow trend that is sweeping Paris Fashion Week. YSL sent models down the runway with pink extended up to the brow bone, while over at Givenchy, makeup extraordinaire Pat McGrath matched the eyes to the red lip. The no-brow brow look was back, leaving all the attention on the coral-red eye. Which means ladies, that it's time to bust out your red, orange and pinks and create a little eye-catching attention of your own, no?

Ever wondered how you can wear blue eyeshadow without looking totally '80s? It's easy. Go for a blue in a steely-grey version like Mariska Hargitay's or simply mix two grey-toned shadows, such as a silver and a deep charcoal, to create lots of depth à la Jennifer Lopez and Nicole.

Whether it was Mo'Nique and her Billie Holiday hair or Nicole Richie looking a little bit mod, retro inspiration was all over the Oscars red carpet. Diane Kruger, Amanda Seyfried, Sarah Jessica Parker and Elizabeth Banks also took a vintage stance when it came to their hair, so it's more than likely that we can expect to see a resurgence of old styles. Are you looking forward to revisiting the past or will you be sticking to the modern-day look?

Milan Fashion Week took a tip from Amy Winehouse (who knew?) this season with the runways full of darkly-lined cat eyes. DSquared2 worked the vampy seductress look, while Roberto Cavalli embraced heady '70s-inspired makeup with full-on smoky lids. Blumarine's vibe was the most graphic version of the trend with every model sporting dark winged eyes. Meanwhile, Bottega Veneta went for high drama with heavy black shadow. Is it a look you love?

It's not a new trend, that's for sure, but the centre part does seem to be a fairly distinctive one to come out of Fashion Week so far. As far as distinctive hair trends go, mind you—there being so many hairstyles to work through that I sometimes wonder if a "trend" is just wishful thinking. But we have definitely seen it in recent days at Emilio Pucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Versace, as well as back in Blighty (fighting through that frizz) at Nicole Farhi and PPQ, and way back when at NYFW on the Proenza Schouler, Marc by Marc Jacobs, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Diesel and Anna Sui runways. How do you feel about the centre part?

Forget the FRIZZ-EASE® girls, fuzzed-up is the hottest way to wear your hair in A/W '10 according to the London catwalks. Topshop Unique fell in love with the idea of "savage woodland brownies," (as you do) creating giant frizzy manes for its models using a combination of tonging and backcombing. Then there was Vivienne Westwood, who along with hairstylist Peter Gray, created hair that resembled fairy floss to match the dramatic collection. Paul Costelloe, meanwhile, sent exaggerated Edwardian up 'dos down the catwalks, which can only mean one thing—backcombing is back! It's a-time to get teasing . . .

I know that we're in London land right now and gearing up for Milan, but it's imperative that we rewind slightly to look at what treats we'll be sporting on our talons sometime soon. NYFW was abuzz with great nails (told you so, didn't I?). Backstage, the colours were largely dark or neutral but the name of the game was texture. Lots and lots of texture. Check out these snaps to see what you'll be wearing.
Missed the shows? Not to worry, we've got the recap of the top makeup trends seen on the runways at 2010 Fall NY Fashion Week. Watch now!
At the Marc Jacobs show, models sported not one, not two, but five different manicure styles. Fo' real. All created by CND's Roxanne Valinoti (with Elisa Ferri), the five hand-mixed, custom-blended colours ranged from a brownish grey to lavender-tinged beige. They're bound to become big news in the nail world, and we've got the exact recipes for you . . .

People everywhere are dying to get their hands on Chanel's new "it" nail shade Particulière which has been generating buzz since the models wore it on the runways in Paris last year. It's due out on Sunday, 21 February and Pop has had her name down on the waiting list for-ever. Unfortunately, it's nearly $40, which some consider to be a little pricey for polish. Personally I think there's nothing like the real thing, but you could try these ones for size . . .
The best match by far is OPI You Don't Know Jacques! ($19.95), which really does look like Particulière from a distance.
Another very close shade is Essie Mink Muffs ($18.95), which is slightly more brown than the Chanel colour. With a grey or white base coat though, it can be made pretty convincing.
Orly Prince Charming ($18.95), which is due out in March, is another great dupe. Slightly more mushroomy, but hey, I won't tell if you don't.
