The traditional way to celebrate Australia Day is with a BBQ. It can be at the beach, or in the backyard, it can involve fancy seafood buffets or simply snags on the barbie — either way if you're participating in the great Australian tradition you're going to need something appropriate to wear. The key to nailing this tricky casual dress code is to look like you've effortlessly thrown something together but also is cool in a where-did-you-get-that kinda way. We've come up with five fun BBQ dressing options to make your Australia Day just a bit more stylish than most. Who's for a sanga sandwich, then?
Happy (almost) Australia Day! To mark a day that’s usually symbolised by BBQs, thongs, the beach and Vegemite among other things, we’re taking a slightly different approach and combining a few of our favourite things: Aussies, celebrities and love. Sure, we can’t get enough of Hollywood pairings like Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, or Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, but some of the best real-life chemistry also comes from home-grown stars. Whether dating, engaged or married, check out some of the sweetest, cutest and hottest Aussie couples.
So you know we're going a little loco on the Australiana theme this week — but what better time to celebrate all that is great about Aussie celebs and products made Down Under than the lead-up to Australia Day? We always look forward to events like the Logies and any Australian film premiere, because we get to see stars including Jodi Gordon, Lara Bingle and Rose Byrne flexing their makeup muscles. We asked the Sugar eds to pick their all-time favourite Australian beauty moment; plus the product they'll be purchasing to get thy look at home.
Seems like this is the year for up-and-coming cool kids! Last week we introduced you to the hilarious Maude Apatow, and now we'd like you to get acquainted with Alice Englert. Aged just 18, this young actress is a star on the rise — and she's moving fast. With parents who are major players in the film industry, some seriously cool acting gigs under her belt already and a rapidly-growing international following, it's safe to say that Alice is just moments away from becoming a household name. Never heard of her? Get ahead of the rest of the world now by clicking through our gallery and learning all about Alice Englert.
Seafolly is known for employing Australia's most smokin' swimsuit bodies for their swimwear campaigns. Back in 2000 it was a fresh-faced Kristy Hinze, in 2007 it was a pre-Victoria's Secret Miranda Kerr and 2009 and 2010 saw Jessica Hart's gap-toothed beauty grace billboards and bus shelters the nation over. Well, we think the iconic brand might have just tapped another home-grown modelling talent. Meet Rebecca S. The 18 year old blonde was discovered in her local shopping mall, but we can see a big international career in front of the statuesque beauty.
CEO, Anthony Halas said of the choice, "Seafolly has achieved impressive success on a global scale but alwasy stays true to its Australian roots, embracing Aussie beach culture. This is reflected in our campaign face choices." Step inside to see Rebecca at work, then keep clicking to review Seafolly's iconic campaign history.

You might be familiar with the Australian beauty brand Models Prefer. It's Priceline's very own "luxe for less" range that offers makeup, hair tools and fragrances. Now, Models Prefer also offers a comprehensive skincare line (Hydrate, Rejuvenate and Purify) that rivals some of the bigger, more high-end brands on the market. You see, it has been developed in conjunction with one of Italy's leading laboratories, and contains similar ingredients to like-minded products sold for at least double the price.
The buzz word in the Models Prefer skincare range is Aqua Flex — an active ingredient derived from purified pomegranate extract. And as we know, pomegranate has super healing powers, but is also good for acne and anti-ageing. We've included a breakdown of our favourite products from the range, so click through.

Got plans for the Australia Day public holiday? Yeah, us neither. Yet. The 26th of January usually means having a few cold ones with friends, standing around a BBQ (how 'strayan is that?) and listening to Triple J's Hottest 100 countdown — which means taking your foot off the high-fashion pedal and opting for something low-key, but still cool. I asked my fellow Sugar editors to spill the beans on what they are intending to wear to celebrate all things Aussie. Looking for some outfit inspo? This might just help!
The local Autumn/Winter campaigns keep-a-coming, which is fine by us considering this week's home-grown fashion focus. Top of today's pile is Ksubi's new season look book, which although shot on location in a French chateau employs the Australian talents of ANTM winner Montana Cox in front of the lens and the styling skills of Vogue's Christine Centenera behind it — with Sydney-based snapper Darren McDonald calling the shots. The threads? It's a little less I'm-with-the-band 'tude than we're used to seeing from Ksubi, with leather, statement graphic baroque/brocade prints and sleeker silhouettes making everything a touch more polished, but in a tough-girl kinda way. Due to drop in-stores and online as of Feb, we think it's well worth taking in a preview show.
Australia is home to a group of very sexy stars. And while they always look spectacular when they’re dolled up for work, photo shoots and events, sometimes it’s their candid, unguarded moments that they share on social media that provide some of their sexiest moments. So in saying that, we checked out the Twitter, Instagram etc accounts of home-grown celebrities to collate a series of hot pictures that celebrate an Aussie Summer, sweet couple moments, behind-the-scenes fun and more.
