If you're a local fashion designer with an eye on world domination, this could be your ticket to big time success. The 2013 DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship is looking for an emerging Australian label who has been exporting its designs no longer than four years. The recipient of the scholarship will receive $10,000 worth of international freight services, as well as a coveted one-on-one appointment with the buying team from My-Wardrobe — both invaluable stepping stones to turning a local label into an internationally recognised brand.
The winner will also join the illustrious ranks of previous winners Hary Setiadi, Bec & Bridge and We Are Handsome. The 2012 winner, Hary Setiadi (backstage at his MBFWA show is pictured above), said the scholarship has “given me an understanding of the process of international shipping, how to be strategic in my approach to sending collections overseas as well as how to build great cost efficiencies into my business through shipping solutions... I strongly urge all designers with dreams of expanding their brand internationally to enter the DHL Express Fashion Export Scholarship.” Entries close at 5pm, this Friday 31st of May. You know what they say. . . you gotta be in it to win it!
