Back in 2006, Dove — the brand that pioneered the use of real women in campaigns — commissioned a nationwide survey that revealed that only one percent of Australian women described themselves as beautiful. Keen to see how perspectives have changed since, the beauty giant commissioned a similar survey and the results today, thankfully, reveal a boost in confidence with 81 percent of girls describing themselves as beautiful, but only 51 percent of women, showing that we still have a problem with ageing gracefully. Police in New Zealand are currently searching for a woman they've dubbed the "Botox bandit" after she had $620 worth of injectables on July 28 — and then fled. But not before she's had her photo taken. Senior Constable Helen Mahon-Stroud of the Papanui police that it "beggars belief" that someone would flee after getting their photo taken, but this isn't the first time that it's happen. We tracked down some more "Botox bandits".

  • In October 2010 Melissa Chesney was sentenced to five years in prison for "committing fraud in search of a wrinkle-free face." Between February and May 2009, Melissa visited Orange Country spas 17 times using fake names and paying with cheques that bounced to purchase Botox and a variety of other spa treatments.

Lesley Khan of London's Harley Street Skin Clinic told UK tabloid, The Daily Star: "We are now seeing scores of female clients seeking the perfect bottom. A few years back everyone wanted the Jennifer Lopez look, but now everyone asks for a bottom like Pippa's — curvy but not too peachy."
