Get the Look: Keira Knightley's Lush Lower Lashes

Keira Knightley was a vision of classic beauty at the premiere of Anna Karenina late last week.

Keira Knightley was a vision of classic beauty at the premiere of Anna Karenina late last week. The actress's hair was styled in a sleek side part, which complemented her full brows and bold red lipstick. But it was her full, lush lashes that garnered the most attention, proving that defined bottom eyelashes are still on trend. "We wanted the look to be classic and beautiful," said Chanel celebrity makeup artist Katie Lee.

To achieve the eye look, Lee swept on Laura Mercier Caviar Eyeliner in Navy and then blended Chanel Les 4 Ombres Lagons ($98.00) to extend the line. For the long, flirty lashes, Lee applied two coats of Le Volume de Chanel Mascara in Noir (available in 2013) after curling. For the doll-like lower lashes Keira wears so well, hold your mascara wand vertically and apply the pigment in downward strokes. This eye makeup and lipstick pairing is perfect for the upcoming party season and looks classic on everyone.

Sometimes one mascara isn't enough to get the faux-lash effect.

Sometimes one mascara isn't enough to get the faux-lash effect. Don't settle for second best, though. Double down on your formulas instead. Combine a lengthening lash-enhancer with a thickening formulation, or top a defining mascara with a curling one. The combinations are endless. Get The Look: Emma Watson's Standout Lashes

Emma Watson looked cute and sexy (it seems only she can do both at the same time!) on the red carpet of Struck By Lightning for the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City yesterday.

Emma Watson looked cute and sexy (it seems only she can do both at the same time!) on the red carpet of Struck By Lightning for the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival in New York City yesterday. She sported soft pink cheeks and a cherry red gloss, but it was her long, luscious eyelashes that really made a statement. To create the same length, fullness and curl at home, use the Tweezerman Supercurl Eyelash Curler ($15) before you apply a generous amount of mascara. Remember to apply from the bottom of the lash line all the way to the tip. Eyelashes curl best when warm, so consider waving your hairdryer over the curler (on a warm setting) for about 10 seconds. Be sure the curler isn't too hot, then place on eyelashes and hold for another 10 seconds. Be patient, the longer you hold, the better the curl!

What We're Sweet On: The Cleanser That's Just For Mascara

Leave it to the lash-obsessed people at Talika to formulate a makeup remover that's supposed to "feed" your fringes.

Leave it to the lash-obsessed people at Talika to formulate a makeup remover that's supposed to "feed" your fringes. Their new Oil Free Lash Conditioning Cleanser ($23.10) is an impressive blue gel that handily removes any mascara, even the waterproof variety. The directions suggest you pump cleanser onto a cotton pad and then swipe it across your lashes, but it's actually just as effective to soak a square of toilet paper and try it that way. You also don't have to rinse afterward, although doing a little clean up around your eyes certainly isn't a bad idea. We can't speak to whether it really makes lashes stronger, but it definitely does make them feel soft and healthy in a that a lot of drying, alcohol-based makeup removers don't.

The Latest Lash Craze: Semi-Permanent Mascara

You only have to look at the number of mascaras released each year to know that the lash industry is showing no signs of slowing down.

You only have to look at the number of mascaras released each year to know that the lash industry is showing no signs of slowing down. Most recently eyelash extensions have been popular but there's a new trend taking over the lash world: semi-permanent mascara. Big in the US and about-to-be-big in the UK and here, a long-lasting flutter is set to be the must-have treatment ahead of Christmas parties. Find out more!

What is it? Designed to look just like mascara, semi-permanent mascara promises to add curl, length and volume to lashes.

What makes it different? Unlike regular mascara, you won't need to apply it every day. One round of semi-permanent mascara can last between four to five weeks. And unlike extensions, it isn't overly expensive with a top lash line of Mezmereyz Semi-Permanent Mascara costing approx $40 and top and bottom lashes costing approx $65.

A Nod to Mod: Abbey Lee Plays Twiggy in i-D Magazine

From Alexa Chung on the cover of October UK Harper's Bazaar, the red carpet with Evan Rachel Wood and Abbey Lee Kershaw in i-D magazine's A/W issue, the 1960s mod look is making a comeback.

From Alexa Chung on the cover of October UK Harper's Bazaar, the red carpet with Evan Rachel Wood and Abbey Lee Kershaw in i-D magazine's A/W issue, the 1960s mod look is making a comeback. Made popular by birthday girl Twiggy, pictured on the cover of British Vogue in 1967, the focal point of the makeup look is a chunky lower lash line, exaggerated with lashings of mascara. For i-D, Abbey Lee's has been taken one step further, with a thick kohl applied along the upper and lower lash line and false lashes applied in what looks to be tiny overlapping loops. It might be a tad too much for an everyday look, but would you try it?
