Love It or Hate It: Jessica Alba Pumps Up the Volume in Paris

Gay Paree. The city of love.

Gay Paree. The city of love. Now renamed the city of volume thanks to Karl Lagerfeld and Jessica Alba's stellar work in the French capital. The Revlon hottie was at the premiere of The Killer Inside Me and went for this wickedly wonderful interpretation of Prada's A/W 2010 drawn-out hair, which, if you remember, Guido Palau called “classic French hairdressing.” Jess obviously thought so, too. Hers is a little less finished, a little more tousled and really very pretty. Especially when teamed with that gorgeous sparkly gold-to-bronze eye. Try Revlon's new Luxurious Color Eyeshadows in Sunlit Sparkle, Brushed Copper and Shimmering Sienna ($19.95 each) for the same effect. They're out in July. LOVE. What do you think of Jess' 'do?

Urban Outfitters Launches Its First Makeup Range

We're not sure what started the tidal wave, but we are loving the High Street fashion chains' beauty and skincare ranges.

We're not sure what started the tidal wave, but we are loving the High Street fashion chains' beauty and skincare ranges. First, H&M launches a bargain organic skincare line, then Topshop announces an affordable fashion makeup collection. Now, Urban Outfitters is joining the fray with the launch of its debut colour makeup range.

The range hasn't been named yet but it includes eyeshadows, liners, lipsticks and nail varnishes and will go on sale next month, with prices ranging from approx $8 to $40.

Check out the pigments on those eyeshadows (right). LOVE. Stay tuned for more updates.

Pretty Palette Alert: Laura Mercier Eye Mosaic

If you think I’m a flutter floozy then I have no idea what you’ll make of my passion for palettes.

If you think I’m a flutter floozy then I have no idea what you’ll make of my passion for palettes. It's quite beyond the realms of control. I think that anything that is worthy of being made into a palette is worthy of being owned. Which as you've guessed, leads to another one of those awkward conversations with the bank manager.

My latest lust-have: limited edition Laura Mercier Eye Mosaic palettes ($70 each). I’m a big fan of Shimmer Bloc's ($62) baked formula and I’m glad that the pigment level has been taken up a notch to really ensure these colours catch attention. The shadows are silky so glide on with ease and glisten in the light like a diamond (particularly the golden hues).

I like Sahara Sun (top) for day-wear and Mediterranean Sea (bottom) for night-time.

They hit David Jones and Myer counters on November 30 but remember, they’re limited edition so hurry to avoid disappointment.
