If you're looking for something beautiful, glittery and sparkly to watch over the weekend - aren't we all - and you'd like to see how a super sh*t-hot makeup artist at the top of his game creates avant-garde looks, then boy, have I got a treat for you.

In collaboration with filmmaker KT Auleta, Lancôme Creative Director Aaron de Mey created this gorgeous, visually stunning video. There are sparkles gal-ore and you can see a breakdown from de May himself on how he created each the looks. Ch, ch, check it out now! Whaddya reck?

RAFW 2010: Sparkling Brazilian Bombshells at Fernando Frisoni

Fernando Frisoni colour-blocked his Spring/Summer 2010-11 collection and MAC Makeup Director Natasha Severino followed suit with the glitter that formed the focial point of the makeup look yesterday. Now, normally I'm not the biggest glitter gal, but this looked so wow that I can't wait to bust me open some sparkle. The four different looks centred around gold, silver, blue and red glitter. Getting it to stick involved a couple of different methods: the lid was prepped with black Cream Colour Base to add depth also, and under the eye, Natasha didn't powder so that the glitter could 'stick' to the moisturised skin. Apart from that, the base was flawless; contouring and highlight, check; and the lip was blanked out to let the eyes shine (and sparkle).

RAFW 2010: Stars in Their Eyes at Ellery

The astrological chart provided inspiration for the makeup look at Ellery which was directed by Linda Jefferyes using id Bare Minerals. There were two different looks: full-on glitter in gold, silver, pink and black that looked almost as if it had been sprayed on; and a really dewy, clean and translucent palette that featured just a hint of copper on the eye. Interestingly Linda used the id Bare Minerals powder foundation for the latter look and was still able to keep the dewy look showing through by moisturising the skin first and then buffing in a light layer of the product. And good news for all those glitter fans, Linda reckons glitter is back! She's been using heaps of metallic and shimmering products recently as matte has been done to death. Oh my FREAKIN' god. Could Daria Werbowy be any more beautiful? The answer, if you're finding it a little tricky, is no. Not just anyone could turn my arch nemesis (glitter) into my new must-have makeup item. Her beautiful shoot in the May issue of Vogue Paris has her rocking some seriously snazzy shadows of the violet and vert variety, not to mention pink glitter lips, all artfully created by Aaron De Mey. 2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Doo.Ri

Inspired by Chung's beaded collection, the makeup (created by Tom Pecheux) featured light contouring and no mascara. But the focal point was a matte red lip coated with glitter. ("It's green and blue, thanks to Avatar," he revealed.) To complement the look, manicurist Jin Soon Choi tweaked the current cement-coloured nail polish trend by adding shimmer; the result, she said, was "chic, modern, and sophisticated." The same could be said of the hair, which featured face-framing fishtail braids on each side of the head. "I look at the clothes and do a hairstyle that a woman would actually do," said lead stylist Orlando Pita. What do you think?

2010 Grammy Awards: Trend Spotting

The most obvious trend to sweep the awards was the nude lip, but delving a little deeper, it's clear to see that the Grammys boasted several strong trends this year, with most celebs wearing multiple trends at the same time. (Obviously, Lady Gaga managed to wear almost all of them.)

Love It or Hate It: Givenchy Does Glitter Goth

Glitter and goth normally consider themselves mortal enemies, both at opposite ends of the beauty spectrum, but yesterday we saw them come together for the Givenchy Spring 2010 Paris Couture show. Pat McGrath (ledge) blended blue and grey glitter into the exaggerated smoky eye and then finished up with a blood-red lip. I quite like it. Granted, I wouldn't be brave enough to do the eye and lip at the same time but separately, I shall be getting my goth glam on. You?

Love It or Hate It: Ke$ha Goes Glitterbomb

If I was an can't-touch-this cool as Ke$ha right now, maybe I'd choose to wear large chunks of tinsel, accessorise with rhinestones, apply a ton of glitz and scrawl my name in magic marker on my chest. Wouldn't you?

The "Tik Tok" singer did all the above (and added some more glitter for extra measure) while visiting the MuchMusic HQ in Toronto earlier this week.

Obviously she wants to be scintillating, but what do you think of this look? Was it a sparkling triumph or did it have all the makings of greatness, only to fizzle at the last minute?
