She looked a treat in her Giambattista Valli dress (hello legs), but it was Diane Kruger's eggshell blue nails that had us in a spin yesterday. It's a curious colour contrast, but at the same time, just so right. Yesterday's Oscars capped-off a whirlwind awards season, and we noticed a huge lean towards nude, taupe and grey nails — a big nod to the Spring 2013 trends. Happy Friday! Once again, our week at Sugar has been filled with lots of hard work, and many fun moments to sweeten the deal along the way. At first, we were transfixed by an infamous television event, but our attention quickly turned to the many amazing A/W '13 items that we got to peek at. From luscious silks and prints to mixed-metal necklaces, FabSugar editor Ali was up to her ears in pretty new pieces. BellaSugar kept busy with new nail polish reviews, bagloads of mascara and something even more exciting (you'll have to see inside!), while PopSugar was hitting movie screenings and trying out the tacos at a pop-up bar near our office. We have a sneaky first look at the range up close, and I think nail polish aficionados will be really impressed. After your base coat, you only need two thin coats to get the full gumboot effect, and its super fast drying. Like, to the tune of 30 seconds per coat.
My heart went straight for Prosperity — the royal purple — and if you keep clicking, you can see it on my nails. The colours were inspired by the dominatrix Rubber Boot Girl of 1920s Berlin fame, which is very Illamasqua. Always loud, always proud. Love it.
