Lauren Conrad travelled to India to celebrate the Holi holiday, but her vacation had an unexpected result — pink strands. The "festival of colours" welcomes Spring with powdered pigments taking over the streets. Lauren was smeared in multi-coloured paints by the end of the event, and later discovered the semi-permanent effect on her blonde locks. "So apparently it doesn't wash out . . . Looks like I'm sporting pink locks for the rest of this trip," she said on her Instagram. This isn't the first time the star has gone pink. Last Spring, she wore magenta tips, following the pink hair trend. Perhaps bright highlights are making a comeback this season.
The Hills wrapped a long time ago, but Lauren Conrad has reinvented herself into a successful young business woman. She's written books — including one about beauty — and designed clothes, making her one of the most well-respected young things in Hollywood today. It's Lauren's 27th birthday today, so we thought we'd take a little trip down memory lane, right back to her Laguna Beach days and check out her beauty files. From beach babe to balayaged beauty, the TV star-turned-author has inspired many-a-beauty look. Hottie.
From beauty to fashion, trendsetter Lauren Conrad recently showcased that oxblood is here to stay. Decked out in her signature, winged-out eyeliner and a retro-red lip look, Lauren topped her vintage-meets-modern style off with ombré highlights and smooth, old-school waves.
To get just the right shade of crimson, celebrity makeup artist Amy Nadine layered a bright red lipstick over a burgundy. While glossy, the highly pigmented colours combine to make a full-of-depth hue that lasts and lasts. Added Nadine, "No need to reapply throughout the night — not even once."
We've gotten so accustomed to seeing statement lips/eyes/brows/hair/everything at the many celebrity events each week that when stars step out looking natural — like they have done at the Third Annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in Los Angeles yesterday — we actually get a little bit excited. It's so nice to see clear, glowing skin, natural lip colours and hair that looks carefree and easy to copy (very important, obviously). While each gorgeous celebrity had a key feature to make them stand out — Lauren Conrad's curls, Rachel Zoe's lip, Mandy Moore's alabaster skin — they all looked like they were happy to be in their own skin, using makeup only to accentuate the goods that they've all already got. Click through to see which looks we loved, and who else rounded out the Polo.
When we talk about out celebrity girl crushes, Lauren Conrad is right up there with the likes of Cara Delevingne and Kate Moss. The ex-reality star has carved a reputable writing career following her leading lady status on The Hills, and she even released her own beauty book earlier this year, Lauren Conrad Beauty. Aside from consistently rocking perfectly winged eyeliner, Lauren is also a major fan of the bun. She sported the easy but polished hair look at numerous New York fashion week events recently, complete with cute baby hair around her face (this really softens the look of an otherwise polished hairstyle). To celebrate her love of taking the high road and our love of her, we've got Lauren's top 10 bun moments. Yippee!
As much as fashion week is about the clothes, there are plenty of stand out beauty looks to accompany them. We connected with celebrities, designers, and top models behind the scenes on what keeps them fresh-faced, bright-eyed, and perfectly coiffed during this biannual, week-long adventure in New York City. See which hairstyles Lauren Conrad is skilled at creating herself, the iconic hair spray Olivia Palermo can't live without, along with a few top tips from Victoria's Secret models.
2011 was a big, beauty-filled year for former The Hills star Lauren Conrad. Not only did she launch The Beauty Department, an online resource for all things beauty, but she also announced plans to create a cosmetics line and pen a beauty book. When it comes to her own personal version of beauty, she plays it quintessential Californian girl — long, ombré locks that she recently streaked peach, often styled into a range of braided hairstyles. In honour of her 26th birthday today, we're taking a look back at 10 of her best braided 'dos — got a fave?
Simple, pretty and understated were the words that came to mind when we saw Lauren Conrad at the InStyle after party. Keeping in theme with her minimalist midnight blue mini, Lauren's hair was styled in rope-like twists pulled into a chignon at the nape of her neck paired with a subtle glitter eyeshadow, standout black liquid winged eyeliner and a glossy nude lip. It's a classic LC beauty look, but do you think it's enough for the red carpet?

On getting her signature tonged tresses: "I use a curling iron with a quarter-inch barrel—sometimes it varies depending on the length of my hair. I use Moroccanoil and a soy leave-in protein spray that I spritz on daily like hairspray."
On avoiding sleek ponytails: "I normally don't wear my hair back too tightly because I have a thing about my ears. I almost never show my ears! I mean, there's nothing wrong with them, I just always hide them."
