Watch: The History Between Marilyn Monroe & Chanel N°5

We've seen Brad's take on the juice, but in a new and very beautiful short video released by Chanel, we look to Marilyn.

We've seen Brad's take on the juice, but in a new and very beautiful short video released by Chanel, we look to Marilyn. The second part of a series called Inside Chanel, we're taken on a retrospective journey celebrating one of the label's iconic products, Chanel N°5. This film, called Marilyn & Chanel N°5, looks at the perfume's long history with '50s sex symbol Monroe, stemming from when she first admitted she wears only Chanel N°5 to bed (so trying that tonight). It's a cool documentary-style video and it's also totally mesmerising. See for yourself.

On the 50th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's Passing, We Look to Those Red Lips

Marilyn Monroe (aka Norma Jeane Mortenson), sadly passed away 50 years ago yesterday, and we thought what better way to remember the screen siren than with our top five red lip products.

Marilyn Monroe (aka Norma Jeane Mortenson), sadly passed away 50 years ago yesterday, and we thought what better way to remember the screen siren than with our top five red lip products. After all, she was the queen of the red lip and one of the reasons the hue is so popular today. Wearing red lipstick can be daunting, but the key is to wear lip liner to stop it bleeding. Make sure lips are exfoliated and moisturised, then carefully line the lips with a sharp pencil of similar shade to the red lipstick you'd like to wear, and be sure to follow your natural lip line. Then, fill in the entire lip area with the pencil — this will give your lipstick better staying power. Finally, apply your lipstick! And if there's one thing beauty icons of yesteryear have taught us, remember to blot the excess with a tissue. Click through to see the five red lip products we're loving right now.

Elizabeth Banks Channels Marilyn Monroe For Vanity Fair

There's no shortage of stars (and makeup brands) lining up to pay homage to the most famous blonde of all time.

There's no shortage of stars (and makeup brands) lining up to pay homage to the most famous blonde of all time. From Ricki-Lee Coulter to Blake Lively, Marilyn Monroe's iconic silver screen moments in The Seven Year Itch and Gentleman's Prefer Blondes provide the perfect inspiration to play dress up. And the latest actress to follow suit is Elizabeth Banks who will read Monroe's personal letters in the upcoming Thoughts from Fragments documentary. Posing for Norman Jean Roy's lens for this Vanity Fair spread, Elizabeth nails the charm of Marilyn Monroe, a woman who she says was "such an amazing mix of contradictions."

From Disney villains to Daphne Guinness, MAC Cosmetics' makeup collaborations are as far-reaching as they are fun. Always popular, we have a feeling that the latest just-announced collaboration will be one of its most successful yet: the MAC X Marilyn Monroe collection. Set to launch worldwide in October, details are scarce on the ground but we do know that the line will include 30 products, including shadows, lipsticks, nail polishs and liners. We're expecting beautiful vintage packaging, red lipsticks and something to recreate her famously flirty flutter.

As Blake Lively becomes the latest in line to channel Marilyn, we've picked 10 of the most interesting takes on her look over the years. Michelle Williams' homage in My Week With Marilyn is refreshingly different from the glitzy, camp portrayals of the blonde bombshell that we're used to seeing but do you prefer Blake's or Madonna's take on this iconic scene?

Michelle Williams Talks Being Sexy and Marilyn Monroe in GQ

She's just been awarded her first Golden Globe for her portrayal as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, and she's stripped down to her lingerie and taken on the platinum bombshell bob, bold red lip and dark lashes again for the February issue of US GQ magazine.

She's just been awarded her first Golden Globe for her portrayal as Marilyn Monroe in My Week With Marilyn, and she's stripped down to her lingerie and taken on the platinum bombshell bob, bold red lip and dark lashes again for the February issue of US GQ magazine. Along with talking about her relationship with Heath Ledger and daughter Matilda, Michelle discussed playing the Hollywood icon, and moving away from sexier roles in both TV and film. "I wouldn't say that that would be one of my first qualities as a human being — being sexy . . . and I think because my character on Dawson's Creek was sexy . . . sexualised . . . sexual . . . I saw all the negative attention and connotations that can come along with that. And that those things can keep people from seeing you clearly." It's not the first time Michelle has donned the signature Marilyn Monroe look for a magazine — she appeared in the October US Vogue issue in a similar fashion.
