The American Music Awards provided some excellent beauty fodder for this week's most beautiful list — just look at Kelly Osbourne's hair! Rihanna looked toned and sexy with wet-look waves and large hair pins. Taylor Swift was channelling all things royal at her visit to Kensington Palace, while local beauties Laura Dundovic and Nikki Phillips rocked bronzed limbs and perfect hair at the Cleo Swimsuit Party. Sydney was style central this week, with a bevvy of big names making chic appearances Down Under. Kirsten Dunst stepped out in polka-dot print Dolce and Gabbana for the premiere of Anchorman 2, while a particularly good-looking crowd partied wearing summery-styles in Bondi for Cleo's annual swim party.
Internationally, Taylor Swift traveled to London to meet (and perform with) Prince William at the Winter Whites Gala on Tuesday, Poppy Delevingne was spotted at Claridge's party for its Dolce & Gabbana Christmas tree and the American Music Awards called vocal talent to the red carpet. All those amazing outfits and more right here in the gallery.
Bondi Beach proved to be an ideal location for Cleo to hold their annual swimsuit party last night. Local celebrities flocked to The Bucket List for the soiree, which featured refreshing cocktails, canapés and a swimwear parade that had guests excited for Summer. Nikki Phillips introduced the show, which included models Shanali Martin and Nyadak “Duckie” Thot from this year’s cycle of Australia’s Next Top Model showcasing pretty prints just in time for beach season. Laura Dundovic sparkled at the event in a sequinned Aurelio Costarella dress and caught up with friends such as Kate Peck and Joelle from The X Factor. As the year winds down, Laura told us that she’s excited to have some time off: “It’ll be nice to get a bit of a break. I was really busy with Myer with the racing carnival, so I get to the end of the year and I look forward to going to the beach and enjoying time with family and friends.”
There's no doubt some of our favourite fitness inspiration comes from seeing how the stars have been keeping fit and active. And our favourite health gurus deliver their serve through mouth-watering meals, smoothies and snacks. So this week all eyes were on Miranda Kerr as she lapped up the most of this sunshine, PT Luke defied towering heights and Jessinta Campbell posed for a quick snap with Libby Trickett before their big Dancing With the Stars performance. But there's plenty more to see — click through to check out some of our favourite fitness snaps to inspire you this week!
Loved-up celebrities can’t help but post about their affection on social media — just ask newly-engaged Kaley Cuoco and Ryan Sweeting! Other couples were also feeling romantic on Instagram this week — Erin Gleave celebrated two years since meeting her now-husband, Example, and Jennifer Hawkins had Jake Wall’s support for the grand final of Australia’s Next Top Model on Tuesday night. Stylish ladies soaked up the sun as the weather heated up, such as Lara Bingle and beach babes Jodi Anasta and Nikki Phillips, while Kate Waterhouse and Ruby Rose had cute and cuddly moments with a dolphin and Sulley from Monsters Inc. respectively.
Last night’s Men of Style celebration was supposed to be all about the men, but there were some stunning women who threatened to steal the spotlight. Men’s Style cover girl Megan Gale, who posed on their very first cover and returned to front the publication’s 10th anniversary issue, showed off her sexy figure in a printed frock, and she linked up with friends Laura Dundovic and Nikki Phillips inside the Ivy Penthouse in Sydney as the event kicked on. Michelle Bridges wowed in a skin-tight dress and attended with her ex-husband Bill Moore, who she says she remains the best of friends with after their split. As for the men, stars such as Tom Williams, Didier Cohen and Geoff Huegill suited up in their black-tie best for the party, which recognises stylish local and international men with a profile.
Jodi Anasta and Nikki Phillips left their men at home to attend the Strand Arcade’s annual Evening With Designers event in Sydney last night. The fashionable friends have been spending heaps of time together lately, recently documenting a night out with their respective partners Braith Anasta and Dane Rumble, and friends Zoe and Benji Marshall, on social media. Jodi’s also had a busy schedule of fashion-related events — on Tuesday night she attended the Kookai catwalk show in Sydney, and a few weeks ago she sat front row at Myer’s Spring/Summer 2014 collection launch amid talk she’s signed a new deal as a face of the department store.
Matt Damon and Sharlto Copley brought their new blockbuster Elysium to Sydney yesterday, walking the red carpet at the movie’s premiere at Event Cinemas on George Street last night. South African actor Sharlto, who rose to fame after playing Wikus in District 9 (the first full feature by Elysium director Neill Blomkamp), was the first to arrive, and as the antagonist to Matt’s protagonist in Elysium, he told reporters it wasn’t that fun to play the villain. He explained, “I know that’s not what everyone wants to hear, but it really wasn’t for me. I had so much fun with characters like Murdock in The A-Team or Wikus from District 9. This was a darker, more intense energy, and having to get into a very negative space most of the time. Thankfully the character has a dark sense of humour in some scenes, and those were kind of fun to do, those lighter moments.”
Sharlto’s rising profile means he’s being cast opposite some of the biggest names in Hollywood; he recently wrapped Maleficent with Angelina Jolie. He said he wasn’t really fazed by working with A-list talent because “I have a very personal thing with acting that it’s really in me; I’m very comfortable with it,” but he admitted, “I do have moments where my brain clicks in and goes — and thankfully it’s few and far between — but my brain implodes on itself and goes, ‘Right, that’s Angelina, you’re playing her true love gone wrong,’ and my brain just totally freaks out about how this cannot possibly be! And then it goes away, thank god, and I can just act and do the scene. And the same with Matt and Jodie [Foster]. So thankfully those little freak out moments are very short, but they still do exist.”
Fans of Matt Damon will know that his most recent role before Elysium was the very different Scott Thorson in Behind the Candelabra, but the versatile actor said he had no problems going between an ex-con trying to save the human race on Earth and the young male lover of Liberace because “I had two great directors for each. I actually did Behind the Candelabra after, and I had that script for five or six years by the time we made it, so I’d had a lot of time to think about it, and reflect and ruminate on it, and it’s always better when you get that extra time.” As for what makes up his personal Elysium? “Mine’s kind of simple — I think it’s just hanging out with my kids. Wherever we are, we’ll be good.”

Stepping out in Sydney after a round-the-world honeymoon, Jennifer Hawkins was the picture of health and happiness at the Australia's Next Top Model launch on Thursday night. Glowing from head to toe, her skin was smooth and tan, makeup artist Liz Kelsh playing up Jen's eyes and brows and keeping her lips nude. Her hair? Poker-straight and light blonde from the sun. Also making us sit up and take notice? Laura Dundovic, looking younger and prettier than ever, Sandra Bullock trying out coloured liner and Allison Williams rocking a barely-there beauty look.
