Love It or Hate It: Lo Bosworth Keeps Glamour on the DL . . .

We're used to Lauren Conrad and Hilary Duff book signings where it's all out glam-o-rama so we were a little surprised to see Lo Bosworth keep things so casual whilst signing copies of her book The Lo-Down in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday.

We're used to Lauren Conrad and Hilary Duff book signings where it's all out glam-o-rama so we were a little surprised to see Lo Bosworth keep things so casual whilst signing copies of her book The Lo-Down in Miami Beach, Florida on Tuesday. Granted, she still looks gorgeous: her hair is super shiny and straight and her skin is flawless and radiant, but we'd have liked to see her step it up a little in the lip or eye department. Nothing CRAZY. Just a winged eye or a punchier lip tint. How about you? Do you like that Lo's kept her beauty on the down-low or not?

Liv Tyler Says She's "Complicated and Interesting and Intense"

I'm not one of those girls that never goes makeup-free.

I'm not one of those girls that never goes makeup-free. But would I be happy with my sans-makeup face appearing on GIANT billboards to promote a new fragrance? Umm, no. Guess that's one (of many) differences between Liv Tyler and I. Sigh.

The gorgeous ex-model and Lord of the Rings actress — who has fronted fragrance ads for the house of Givenchy for seven years — will appear with undone hair and no makeup for the March 2011 release of Very Irrésistible Givenchy L’Intense. Tyler has said that she feels "unafraid of exposing myself and the woman I am today—complicated and interesting and intense." Huh. Liv says the campaign is "powerful." Do you reckon it will be? Or do you prefer your ads with a little more polish?

2010 IF Awards Face-Off: Jodi Gordon vs. Jessica Marais

'Tis been a while since we've had a good ol' fashioned face-off, no?

'Tis been a while since we've had a good ol' fashioned face-off, no? But now seems like as good a time as any, especially as two of our favourite Aussie girls were out and about for the 2010 Inside Film Awards in Sydney last night. Gorgeous Gordon was flying the flag for natural-looking makeup, which seems to be pop-u-lar at the moment if Leighton Meester and Sienna Miller are anything to go by. Jodes obvs has a head start on most with her genetics and when you're rocking a tan, the less-is-more rule always works well when it comes to makeup. But were you hoping for a little more than plain gloss and hair scraped back for an awards show? Packed to the Rafters actress Jessica Marais was a total 180 away from Jodi's look, sporting a '60s eye which was heavy on the liner and mascara. Check out them bottom lashes! She finished the look with flawless skin and a sleek up 'do. Both girls looking stunning, but has Jodi's shine let her down? Or does Jess look a little too polished? It's over to you, peeps . . .

Bare Naked Ladies: Would You Go Makeup-Free at Night?

After a few years in the beauty biz, I have my PAR-TAY makeup look down pat.

After a few years in the beauty biz, I have my PAR-TAY makeup look down pat. It goes a lil' something like this. If I know they'll be cute guys there: a red lip. ALWAYS. Works like a charm. If it's an I-don't-know-anyone-here affair, I always opt for killer skin (thank you, NARS Orgasm Illuminator) and a winged eye. Easy. And then for everything else, I go statement lip. Usually fuchsia. It says fun times. I don't think I've ever been to a party and not worn makeup. To be honest the idea fills me with dread. I'm all for resting your skin and popping out to get some milk and a paper bare-faced on a Sunday, but to a party, I like to bring my A-Game. But seems celebs are trying to buck that trend and make us go makeup-free. Because those cool cats Dree Hemingway and Sienna Miller both turned up to events recently wearing nothing. They were NUDE. (Well on their faces.) What say you . . . is it a trend you'll dabble with?

How-To: Fake the "No Makeup" Look in Five Simple Steps

Balmain Fall 2010: perfectly made-up girls who looked like they were almost bare-faced.

Balmain Fall 2010: perfectly made-up girls who looked like they were almost bare-faced. But don't under-estimate Tom Pecheux's handiwork. Creating the "no makeup" look can be tricky, but it needn't be time-consuming if you select the right products . . .

Brown mascara and shimmery nude shadow are your besties. The first enables you to put on several coats without looking like you're wearing anything and the second opens and brightens your eyes without any visible colour change. Nifty. Try Shiseido Perfect Mascara in Brown ($50) and Benefit Love Your Look Velvet Eye Shadow in Leggy ($34).

For even more eye brightening, water-line the inner corners and rims of your lower lids with a nude eye pencil. It'll make you look more alert. Try MAC Chromagraphic Pencil ($32) or a light layer of The Body Shop Metallic Eyeliner in Burnished Amber ($17.95).

Love It or Hate It: Leighton Meester (Almost) Makeup-Free

Looks like B saw her namesake's natural beauty shine through and decided that was how the Upper East Siders should roll from now on.

Looks like B saw her namesake's natural beauty shine through and decided that was how the Upper East Siders should roll from now on. Personally — though it gives me a lot less product to lust after — I'm quite enjoying this stint of (near) bare-faced ladies going around. It's a refreshing reminder of how pretty we can look on our own. Not that I'll be giving my red lipstick up without a fight, you understand. Leighton's come-undone hairstyle and no makeup makeup made her a standout on the Date Night red carpet. But the raspberry lip tint is a welcome addition to save her from looking washed out. What say you: eggsellent or E for effort?

Love It or Hate It: Beyoncé Big-Haired and Beautiful

Hitting the theatre to celebrate their wedding anniversary, Beyoncé and Jay-Z caught a performance of Chicago on Saturday night, but B's hair was looking more Dallas/Dynasty, I've got to say.

Hitting the theatre to celebrate their wedding anniversary, Beyoncé and Jay-Z caught a performance of Chicago on Saturday night, but B's hair was looking more Dallas/Dynasty, I've got to say. Big and bountiful, Beyoncé was sporting some serious root volume, yet her face remained almost bare. It's a welcome change from the false lash action or red lips that we normally see patrol A-list events, don't you think? She looks absolutely stunning, even without a helping hand from Mr. Illuminiser and Mrs. Shimmer Shadow. What do you think of the big hair/minimal makeup combo? Will we be sporting it on Saturday night or leaving it to B?

2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Narciso Rodriguez

I hope you're in a mood for a trend to end the day as it's looking like no-makeup-makeup is going to be big.

I hope you're in a mood for a trend to end the day as it's looking like no-makeup-makeup is going to be big. Mr. Rodriguez sent his models down the runway looking similar to the Diesel Black Gold girls, though this time, the models' brows were filled in. I'm glad there was something happening, I feel that otherwise the look washes them out too much, making them look tired, so at least the brows were there to frame the face. But there's no denying that picture perfect skin is the way to ring in Fall.

And of course, being the huge Narciso fans that you are, I presume you've already entered to WIN his fragrance?
