The look in a few words? Sleek, contrast, polished, graphic – modern and strong! Hero product? Power Spray. It’s a hairspray with aqua elastic technology so we can use it to finish, hold the hair in, get rid of any flyaways but it also has high shine. That glossy, polished look. Is that bondage tape? Yes! It's from a sex shop. It’s something to create that graphic contrast. It comes off really easily. The next big hair trend is... Lots of colour but fitted graphic shapes. The styling product I tell everyone to buy is... Instant Refresh. It’s a clear dry shampoo to you can use it without whitening the hair. It also gives hair texture. We’ve been using it today as well, because we’ve been pulling the hair back tightly, if someone has a sensitive scalp, it reduces sensitivity. My two minutes to perfect hair trick is... Ponytail – quick and easy. If you’re going out, wear it down low and maybe wrap it around in a bun. My most used hair tool is... A comb! The best part of fashion week is... The mixing with people, the creative ideas, the models – everything is fun!

3 Fresh Ways to Wear a Slicked-Back Ponytail

Textured, mussed-up ponytails have taken a back seat to slicker styles recently, but that doesn't mean your up 'do has to be boring.

Textured, mussed-up ponytails have taken a back seat to slicker styles recently, but that doesn't mean your up 'do has to be boring. As Bella Heathcote, Kate Bosworth, and Whitney Port have proudly displayed, there are a handful of gorgeous ways to style your ponytail while keeping it off your face:

  1. Bella went for a liquid-slicked version, pulling her hair back completely without a part. Her low-volume style allowed her flirty winged liner ample room to shine.
  2. Kate Bosworth added some oomph to her up 'do by brushing the sides back but teasing her crown. A bright pink lipstick colour gave some balance — and a serious pop of colour — to her amplified ponytail.
  3. Whitney opted for a low ponytail with a centre-split part that drew attention to her subtle smoky eye and dewy complexion.

However you decided to style your tightly pulled-back hairstyle, you'll need some hair spray to keep it put; reach for something lightweight, like O&M Original Queenie Firm Hold Hairspray ($31.95).

Although Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia doesn't officially kick off until Monday, a few designers choose to showcase their new collections early. Carla Zampatti is one of them. She invited the Fash Pack into her home in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs yesterday to see her "Into the Light" collection, which was inspired by Cecil Beaton with the beauty look serving as a modern juxtaposition thanks to a wet-look ponytail and luminous skin. See how it all came together now.

How to Create Rachel Zoe's Double-Braided Ponytail

From faux-fur vests to leopard-print anything, Rachel Zoe always seems to find a way to make just about any piece of clothing or accessory look covetable.
How to Create a Double-Braided Ponytail

From faux-fur vests to leopard-print anything, Rachel Zoe always seems to find a way to make just about any piece of clothing or accessory look covetable. And when it comes to her hair, it's the same story. At her Zoe Media Group launch party last night, Rachel combined two trends — braids and ponytails — into one style. To recreate the look yourself, start by applying a wave-enhancing product, such as Frédéric Fekkai Coiff Océanique Tousled Wave Spray ($46) onto damp hair. Finger-dry with a hairdryer and touch up with a curling tong as needed.

Next, deep-part the hair to one side. French-braid starting on the smaller side of the part, following the curve of the head. Once you reach the opposite side, secure with an elastic. Now French-braid starting at the heavy side of the part, stopping where the first braid ends. Join the two together with a large elastic and wrap a section of hair around the base to finish. Bananas.
