Dry skin basically means that you're not producing enough oil. We're not trying to say the 3pm oil slick is exactly covetable, but a certain degree of natural oil is good. As skin ages, oil production slows down, which is why it's often recommended that those with mature skin select a creamy cleanser to help replace some of the natural oils. We've all seen someone who overdoes the bronzer and ends up looking more Oompa Loompa that they'd like. Bronzers tend to grab onto dry, dead skin and give off the appearance of a dirty face — especially when applied with a heavy hand. We caught up with makeup artist and bronzing aficionado Shalini Vadhera, whose biggest pre-bronzing recommendation was exfoliation. "It's really important to use a good face scrub at least twice a week," Vadhera said. "You need to remove any dry or dead skin and create a smooth canvas. You'll notice that your bronzer application is much smoother and more natural looking."
