Red Alert: Lindsey Wixson Debuts a New Auburn Hue

Lindsey Wixson's bee-stung pout helped shoot her to model-of-the-moment status back in 2010 but now it's her hair that's taking centre stage.

Lindsey Wixson's bee-stung pout helped shoot her to model-of-the-moment status back in 2010 but now it's her hair that's taking centre stage. In the August issue of Vogue Japan — which sees the 18-year-old rock green and peach shadows — Lindsey's traded in her light brown locks for a darker, more auburn-toned hue. (You can also check it out in Numéro #134.) It's not the first time that we've seen her with red hair, Lindsey gave us some serious Karen Elson vibes when she posed for the Mulberry Spring '11 campaign in a fiery red wig. What do you think of it?

François Nars Turns Snapper For Vogue Japan

François Nars is a man of many talents.

François Nars is a man of many talents. As well as creating a beauty brand that's turned into a worldwide phenomenon — largely down to his multi-award-winning Orgasm Blush — and seen him able to buy his own small island in the South Pacific, he's secured a spot as Marc Jacobs go-to runway makeup artist and is a pretty ace photographer. Yep, what initially started as a passion soon turned into him shooting his own advertising campaigns (he still does to this day) and launching a photography book, X-Ray, in 1999. His striking images mean that he's regularly called upon for his skills behind the lens. His latest project is a stunning editorial spread of German model Toni Garrn in Vogue Japan. Call us biased, but we think François' expert face painting skills allow him to take beautiful shots of makeup, no?

Natasha Poly is a Retro Redhead For Vogue Japan

There may have been a movement towards brunette in the recent A/W 2012 shows but someone bucking the trend is Natasha Poly.

There may have been a movement towards brunette in the recent A/W 2012 shows but someone bucking the trend is Natasha Poly. The Russian stunner was given a red-haired makeover for the May cover of Vogue Japan, which was snapped by Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi, and we're big fans of the look. With her auburn hair styled in a retro fashion to one side by Luigi Murenu, it's shaping up to be one of our favourite editorial hairstyles of the year. But then it may help that Natasha is wearing the amazing sea foam green Chanel dress we oohed and ahhed over too.

Heavy Metal: Make Metallics Work For You Like Anja Rubik

Anja Rubik's makeup in the "Ecstasy of the Moment" spread in Vogue Japan's March issue blew our minds.

Anja Rubik's makeup in the "Ecstasy of the Moment" spread in Vogue Japan's March issue blew our minds. We're big fans of metallic makeup, not to mention the lady behind it — step forward, Ms. Gucci Westman — so it makes sense that we'd love the sultry statement eyes that blend together silver, grey and mauve tones. Whilst the intensity of this particular look may only work on the pages of a fashion magazine, metallic makeup is "always going to be a winner, no matter what the trends are," according to Westman. Our advice? If you stick to a cream formula, they're incredibly easy to apply and to manipulate once on. Plus you get a good colour payoff that you can deepen further by adding powder shadow over the top if you wish.

Match Your Lips and Tips Like Lara Stone With These Combos

Revlon's advertisment for its 1952 Fire & Ice collection — which starred It girl Dorian Leigh — kicked off a major beauty trend: matching your "lips and tips" or co-ordinating your lipstick with your nail polish.

Revlon's advertisment for its 1952 Fire & Ice collection — which starred It girl Dorian Leigh — kicked off a major beauty trend: matching your "lips and tips" or co-ordinating your lipstick with your nail polish. And it's clearly a trend with staying power. We spied it on none other than Lara Stone, Vogue Japan's November cover girl, who wore a deep red wine lip and similar nail shade for the shoot. If colour co-ordinating is your thing, we've gathered together five cult combos.

Kate Moss Puts a Sexy Spin on Couture for Vogue Japan

Kate Moss may be pushing 40, but she proves she can still inject smouldering sex appeal into even the most stitched up of Couture gowns.

Kate Moss may be pushing 40, but she proves she can still inject smouldering sex appeal into even the most stitched up of Couture gowns. Working a range of spectacular haute couture looks from Armani Privé, Christian Dior and Givenchy, Ms Moss seductively lounges — cigarette in hand (again) — for snappers Mert & Marcus. The Vogue Japan cover shoot, styled by George Cortina juxtaposes the high end finery of sequins, feathers and corsetry with the seediness of what looks to be a dimly lit hotel room. Moss' only accessories being her stare-down-the-barrel looks and a python snake. Step inside to see Kate's sexy take on couture.
