Love It or Hate It: Beyoncé Big-Haired and Beautiful

Hitting the theatre to celebrate their wedding anniversary, Beyoncé and Jay-Z caught a performance of Chicago on Saturday night, but B's hair was looking more Dallas/Dynasty, I've got to say.

Hitting the theatre to celebrate their wedding anniversary, Beyoncé and Jay-Z caught a performance of Chicago on Saturday night, but B's hair was looking more Dallas/Dynasty, I've got to say. Big and bountiful, Beyoncé was sporting some serious root volume, yet her face remained almost bare. It's a welcome change from the false lash action or red lips that we normally see patrol A-list events, don't you think? She looks absolutely stunning, even without a helping hand from Mr. Illuminiser and Mrs. Shimmer Shadow. What do you think of the big hair/minimal makeup combo? Will we be sporting it on Saturday night or leaving it to B?

2010 A/W Paris Fashion Week: Chloé

Models loved the sexy, loose tousled hair they wore for Chloé Spring 2010 so it was a tough act for head stylist Guido Palau to follow this season.

Models loved the sexy, loose tousled hair they wore for Chloé Spring 2010 so it was a tough act for head stylist Guido Palau to follow this season. But the “gorgeous, bouncy hair” that he sent down the runways certainly left me coveting. It screamed luxurious, almost-unobtainable glamour, ensuring that it'll top the list of lusted-after FW looks. The don't-touch-what-you-can't-afford hair needed two rounds of blow-drying for that movement, according to WWD. The style needed a “very finished” makeup look, according to head artist Charlotte Tilbury, which consisted of slate-grey eyes and an apricot-hued lip. I love the rich-girl look; what do you think?

Which of Karl Lagerfeld's PFW Looks Gets Your Vote?

I really don't know how Karl Lagerfeld does it.

I really don't know how Karl Lagerfeld does it. As well as being Creative Director for both Chanel and Fendi, he has his own label and he's a photographer. Not to mention an A-list bestie. Lindsay Lohan, Alexa Chung, Vanessa Paradis and Beth Ditto showed up to his Paris shows. The Karl Lagerfeld collection, which debuted first, featured giant, teased up 'dos, crafted in the style of Brigitte Bardot (again?), pvc-style headbands and Fab's favourite lip shade, MAC Lady Danger, which was given a glossy finish with Clear Lipglass. Chanel A/W '10 also featured high-drama hair, but it was styled into a mushroom shape. Against the glacial backdrop, the models' dark eyes captured your attention. The Chanel smoky eye featured smudged, almost haphazard  application of black/grey shadows that were extended up and out towards the brow bone and temple and liner in adjacent angles of the eye. It certainly looked eerily stunning. Which look do you prefer: Karl Lagereld or Chanel?

2010 A/W London Fashion Week: Sass & Bide

I don't know why, but the Sass & Bide Fall 2010 look is really reminding me of Daphne Guinness.

I don't know why, but the Sass & Bide Fall 2010 look is really reminding me of Daphne Guinness. I think it's the voluminous height of the hair (signature Daphne), plus the two-tone effect that the metallic headpiece creates. From a distance it mirrors Daphne's Cruella de Vill black and white style. While it's not overly street-ready and it is slightly birds nesty, I find myself liking it. And yes, a rich berry lip isn't the most original colour for A/W, but it works; against the minimal makeup palette, it looks flawless. What do you think of it all?

2010 Fall New York Fashion Week: Ports 1961

While I could take or leave the fashion, I loved the voluminous curls on display at Ports 1961.

While I could take or leave the fashion, I loved the voluminous curls on display at Ports 1961. Pinning up the hair to set the curl is key to this look, as is some serious backcombing action if you're after the same part-styled-part-unruly look. (Tip: A hairdresser once told me that when tonging your hair, you want to start just below the widest part of your face; if you start above, it can add too much width to your face and make you look a little on the chubby side.) The Ports 1961 girls were finished off with Amelia Earhart-style leather flying caps and taupe eyeshadow all around the sockets. Do you like the '70s curls and minimal makeup look?

Speaking of hair, check out the AMAZING tresses that Dakota Fanning is rocking on the latest cover (issue #63) of V Magazine. All sexy and voluminous, yet edgy at the same time. Interesting. Very interesting. Not to mention off the sexbomb Richter scale. I wonder how many cans of hairspray they went through on the shoot. A gazillion? You like?
