The Man About Town Series: Our Sales Guy Gets a Brow Wax

So far, so good with the office makeovers.

So far, so good with the office makeovers. We're on a 75 percent success rate, with one spray tan convert, one guy putting the Groom into grooming and, even if we didn't manage to convince our IT guy that $75 for a good haircut was worth it, he's since reconsidered his $10 spend. So what's next? Well probably one of our easier challenges because Liam, our sales guy, actually asked us to get his brows sorted for him. His only request . . . it mustn't hurt too much. Would we succeed? Read on to find out and check out Liam's wow brows after the jump!

"I’ve been tiding my eyebrows up on and off over the past couple of years and I can finally say I’ve found a place that ticks all the boxes. Walking into a beauty salon can be slightly intimidating for me so when I walked into Venustus I was greeted by friendly staff and kindly ushered through to a treatment room which made me feel immediately comfortable. I suppose like a lot of guys out there, I want my eyebrows reshaped and tidied, but I don’t want them looking too manicured or feminine. So the therapist advised me how she was going to do this and if I was comfortable with that, which I was. The waxing was relatively painless, I’d say a 3 out of 10 on the pain scale and I received a complementary hand massage during it, which was a really nice touch. There was little redness or sensitivity following the waxing and overall I was extremely happy with the outcome as my eyebrows looked tidy but importantly not feminine, I’ll definitely be heading back in the coming weeks."

Waxing Lyrical: Do You Chat to Your Bikini Waxer or Not?

When we stumbled across this video of Rihanna, we felt for the flame-haired singer.

When we stumbled across this video of Rihanna, we felt for the flame-haired singer. While there are many benefits to being an A-lister (the clothes, the jewels . . . sigh), having a waxer talk to you about life as a mega-famous popstar while waxing your bikini line is not one of them. I'm sure RiRi was real keen on talking about what Eminem was like in real life and singing "Umbrella" while getting a Brazilian. Seriously I cannot think of anything worse than chatting while getting a wax. I'd rather scratch my eyes out. Fo' real. Waxing isn't exactly pain-free and someone asking what I'm up to after this or who I want to win X Factor makes me feel like I'm the only person in the world who finds waxing painful. I'm on Team Rihanna. Less chat, more wax. But Sugar HQ is divided. Some like mindless chit-chat. Some don't. How's about you?

Well Ain't That the Pits: Hairy Underarms Back En Vogue?

Can you believe that it's been ELEVEN YEARS since Julia Roberts stepped out with hairy armpits for the London premiere of Notting Hill?

Can you believe that it's been ELEVEN YEARS since Julia Roberts stepped out with hairy armpits for the London premiere of Notting Hill? 11 years and it still gets spoken about. I guess because she's so high profile, as are Drew Barrymore and Hilary Swank, who's the latest celeb to be snapped with a little underarm fuzz at ELLE's 17th Annual Women in Hollywood Tribute on Monday night. I've gotta say, I'm all for power to the people and expressing yourself but I draw the line at body hair. At events. I get that you may have missed your waxing appointment if you're a regular 9-5-er but these are celebs who have the power, money and star power to get waxers, laser-ers and razor-buyers to come to them. I don't expect A-listers to be groomed to perfection every time they step out the door but if they've got a big party or a premiere on, as a woman, I always thought they'd want to look their best and I know that I would be FAR from my most confident if I had skipped shaving my underarms. But that's my two cents. What do you think? Are you glad that Hollywood women like Hilary and Julia are saying that it's OK not to be hair-free at all costs or should they step up their hair removal stat?
